Nouns are 'things' and can be identified because you can put 'a' or 'the' before it. They may be concrete and tangible, or they may be abstract and intangible.
We tend to use nouns more when we are categorizing and naming. We do this when we are making sense of the world or explaining this to others. This is one reason why it has been found that students who use more nouns tend to get higher grades than those who use more verbs. See also |
